Hailing from the eastside of Indianapolis, In, Zachary Turner, better known as Zakk Lo got his start in rapping following in his older brother, Drewill’s footsteps. At the age of 13, Zakk Lo was introduced to classic hip-hop albums such as Nas’ Illmatic and Jay-z’s Reasonable Doubt by Drewills. He was inspired by those albums to start recording his own albums. After Drewills’ mentoring with the recording process, in 2008, Zakk Lo, known as Hazard at the time, linked up with fellow high-school classmates, Don-Piff and Spaid and started Troubled Youth and joined Drewills’ new record label Immaculate 2020. Troubled Youth then spent their high school years perfecting their craft and dropping 2 street albums, No Child Left Behind (2009) and Age of Consent (2010). The group would build a modest following around Indianapolis after selling cds out of the trunks of their cars.
